New at the Zoo
The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) launched two new exhibits over the Easter weekend; a tropical bird walk-through, ‘Blackburn Pavilion’ at London Zoo and ‘Cheetah Rock’ at Whipsnade Zoo.
Here are Jez and Tim showing off the posters that we have designed for each attraction which you can currently see on the London Underground and Tourist Information Centres across the South East.
The brief presented us with some interesting challenges. To guarantee authenticity, photographer Mark Westerby captured wild cheetahs in the lens on a shoot in Glen Afric, South Africa, whilst our creative team spent many months observing tropical bird species, including hummingbirds, sunbirds and horn-billed toucans, in order to recreate the experience of seeing the birds in their natural habitat.
Both exhibits, designed to enable visitors to get closer to the animals, are expected to generate a high-volume of visitors. ZSL’s continued use of glass, water barriers and walk-through areas enhances the visitor experience and provides the animals with more natural dwelling areas.
