“Hello Stockholm! These are the votes from the Cravens jury...”

Our crack team of judges (Chris and Gav) have just returned from a sealed bunker deep within Northumbria University where they’ve been passing judgment on over 350 paintings, sculptures, photographs and films submitted by artists from all over the North East for the 2008 People Show, sponsored by Cravens. The judging panel also included professional artists, journalists and critics and our insiders tell us that the standard was incredibly high. Nevertheless, after much deliberation, cogitation and, finally, mediation the winners have been chosen and the judges sworn to secrecy. The results will be revealed on 31st July at the private view and you can see a selection of the best entries at the University Gallery from 1st August – 12th September at the University Gallery. As ever, it’s great to be involved in such a fantastic celebration of our region’s creativity and we’re already looking forward to next year’s competition when the People Show celebrates its tenth birthday.
